Our impact

Free learning that changes careers.

Since 2022, The Tech Tribe Charitable Foundation has grown from a single mentorship circle into a registered non-profit with two active learning communities, a structured mentorship programme and monthly sessions that anyone can watch. Everything we offer is free.

This page sets out what that work has achieved so far, how we deliver it, and what we want to do next.

How we create change

Three programmes, one goal

Free learning communities

Our Tribes bring people together around one discipline. The UX Designers Tribe has more than 800 members and the Data Tribe more than 70. Members share feedback, work on projects together and learn from people already working in the field.

Structured mentorship

Our six-month mentorship programme pairs people starting out in tech with experienced professionals. More than 20 mentoring pairs have completed the programme so far, and mentees graduate with a certificate of completion.

About the programme

Monthly community sessions

Each Tribe runs a free monthly session, from design critiques to talks on landing a first data role. Sessions are recorded and shared on our YouTube channel so that no one misses out.

A closer look

"My experience with the tech tribe has been amazing. As someone who has always loved designs now decided to go into Ui/Ux design that the tech tribe made. It has been amazing from their amazing tutors to the explanations and to how sooth their programs runs, i love it and they are all amazing answering all questions, and they made it easier for us to learn, not just learn but to understand every bit. Recognition

Accountable and verified

Registered with the CAC

We are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as a charitable foundation, registration number 7337940.

Verified non-profit

Goodstack verified our non-profit status on 17 October 2026, and Google approved us for the Google for Nonprofits programme on 19 October 2026.

Where support goes

The foundation is currently funded by its founders. That money mainly covers stipends for some volunteer staff, our events, incentives for the best students in training sessions, and design and data reviews for our communities.

Donations and partner support help us run our communities, mentorship and events, so they stay free.

What's next

The work still ahead

We want to open Tribes for developers, UX writers and content designers, and product managers. Each will launch when we have enough interest and volunteer leads to run it well, so registering your interest really helps.

The Tech Tribe Experience (3TE), our planned learning summit in Lagos, is on hold for now. We will share any new plans on our events and news page and with newsletter subscribers.
